Description(1R,2S,3aS,8aR)-6-(hydroxymethyl)-1-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)-3a-methyl-1,2,3,3a,4,7,8,8a-octahydroazulene-1,2-diol belongs to the class of organic compounds known as sesquiterpenoids. These are terpenes with three consecutive isoprene units. Trichocarane D is found in Trichoderma virens. It was first documented in 2000 (PMID: 11000018). Based on a literature review very few articles have been published on (1R,2S,3aS,8aR)-6-(hydroxymethyl)-1-(2-hydroxypropan-2-yl)-3a-methyl-1,2,3,3a,4,7,8,8a-octahydroazulene-1,2-diol.
